Research Highlights
Selected research highlights, including pilot-scale systems, project-based developments, and experimental platforms in electrolysis and Power-to-X technologies.
Dynamic Operation of Pilot-Scale SOE System

We are currently building a container-based 40 kW solid oxide electrolyzer (SOE) system within the Road2X project, funded by Innovation Fund Denmark (IFD) - Grand Solutions.

At Aalborg University, I coordinate the development of this pilot-scale system and lead research on dynamic operating strategies to improve the robustness of SOE systems.

With this system, we investigate dynamic operating strategies for improving the robustness of SOE systems, including:

  1. patented AC:DC operation in collaboration with our industrial partner DynElectro ApS
  2. flexible operating modes, such as start-up, shut-down, and standby
  3. island-mode operation under emergency power shutdown
  4. reversible operation between electrolysis and fuel cell modes
